Today is Another Special Day…

…it’s National Ice Cream Day! The third Sunday in July has been so designated. Sources tell me that July is National Ice Cream Month, so designated by the late President Ronald Reagan in 1984.

How coincidental that I would do the Blogthing on ice cream, and then discover that today recognizes one of my favorite desserts.

If you are a history geek like me, here is some information on the history of ice cream.

I really have to do some serious food negotiating in order to enjoy a dish of authentic dairy ice cream, and bypass the soy ice cream.

  4. Wow..i have not visited in a bit rather in a world in my head…interesting look. I seriously need to rebuild my blog.
    This requires time.
I had no idea that ice cream had a day or month. I’m going to tell a fib to my class and do banana splits tomorrow. It’ll be fun.
If I can find bananas that are ripe.

I like to eat too much.
But in ice cream there are such wonderful flavors.
My Dad used to make it I think you had o get dry ice…it got hand churned. They do this once or twice in a year. i recall peach from his trees. I see newer maker machines are easier. You might try this1 In Gourmet magazine I’d say months back….there was a feature on home made ice creams. It looked delicious.
    Hope all goes sweetly,
    sarah

  5. My favorite television show is American Eats, and they have one episode on ice cream that I’m sure you would enjoy as much as I did.
